Very derivative but I do appreciate the classic film throwbacksīody Heat was the launchpad for both director Lawrence Kasdan and the lead characters, Kathleen Turner, that with her debut film became overnight the prototype of the sensually perfect dark lady, and William Hurt, who after the good reviews for Ken Russell's Altered States the year before, rose to a sex-symbol and stardom status that propelled him to the well-deserved Oscar for Kiss of the Spider Woman four years later.
I thought this was passable good actors but long and full of discussions
This almost feels like those 1940s mystery noir thrillers from the music to the foggy settings to the characters betrayals With the help of one of his criminal clients, bomb maker Teddy Lewis, Ned hatches a scheme to kill Matty's husband so that they can run away together with his moneyīut complications build upon double-crosses, launching the hapless lawyer into a situation far more treacherous than he imagined She has a daughter too but when they're found out they take drastic measures Shyster lawyer Ned Racine begins a passionate affair with Matty Walker, the wife of a wealthy Florida businessman William Hurt, Mickey Rourke, and Kathleen Turner in a deadly game of passion, lies, and danger I really did enjoy Turner's costumes though and the 80s mansion style. The actors did their best, but there was some bad lines and plot holes. It was watchable but not for a second time around, esp due to the considerable cheesy parts.
The 80s version of todays crime documentaries. It had plenty of twists and turns, detectives, lawyers, a love triangle, a murder plot, and that damn infamous Southern heat.
It had adult themes, lots of sexual innuendos in the beginning but not that sexy. I originally heard this movie was very sexy, meh.
